TIME OUT: Gimme a Break

With Finals finally over, many of us have holiday travel plans. Deciding to make my break work for me, I contacted the Internship Coordinator at The Charlotte Observer. At the least, I'll escape the family for a few hours. At the most, I'll get some advice on my writing and make a personal contact for their internship program.
With paid staff reporters on vacation, I also contacted local papers and magazines offering to freelance. All these contacts have inspired me to organize my clip file and to create PDF versions of my work.
As we participate in the spirit of giving -- give yourself a break by working the contacts and opportunities you've been too busy to work during the semester.
